Blast Brigade is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox
2D action adventure launches on consoles and PC after a stint in Steam Early Access with improvements based on player feedback.
Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread, a 2D metroidvania adventure developed by Allods Team Arcade, launches today on PC, Nintendo SwitchTM, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. After refining the gameplay experience with community feedback in Steam’s Early Access program and garnering ‘Very Positive’ reviews, gamers can now enjoy a complete, polished, explosive 2D world with Metroidvania-style exploration on all platforms.
Blast Brigade features a tongue-in-cheek tone, a deep and extensive story, and a cast of distinctive characters. Humorous dialogue complements fully-voice acted cutscenes, inspired by action movies from the '80s. The all-American hero Jeff—de-facto leader of the Blast Brigade—is voiced by Jason Griffith, who previously portrayed Sonic and later Shadow in the Sonic the Hedgehog games.
Blast Brigade tells the story of a diverse group of special agents from across the globe who must unite against the evil genius Dr. Cread. When a seemingly routine mission escalates into a desperate race to prevent doomsday, the heroes must work together to not only save the world, but also safeguard the ancient heritage of an island paradise.
Players can take control of four different heroes, who can be switched out at any moment to overcome challenges in their path. Each character has their own special abilities and gadgets that can open up new parts of the remote island captured by the nefarious Dr. Cread. Cause some damage with Jeff's grenade launcher, reach new areas with Shura's grappling hook, destroy heavily armored enemies and pieces of the environment with Galahad’s robotic arm, and warp using Vortex's chakram teleporter.
With level design influence taken from classic Metroidvania titles, players can explore and backtrack through a variety of interconnected levels. Unique biomes and regions including treetop jungle villages, cliffside prison facilities, the classic volcano base, and ancient temples filled with secrets are waiting to be explored.
Blast Brigade is available for $19.99/€19,99 and rated E (Everyone) and PEGI 7. In addition to console releases on Nintendo SwitchTM, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, the game is also available on PC via Steam and GOG.com. Blast Brigade will also appear on the Epic Games Store in the coming days.
